A career move? Niall Horan announced as Ryder Cup ambassador
Niall Horan has been announced an ambassador for the Ryder Cup.
The Mullingar heart-throb is the latest ambassador to be announced for the 2016 Ryder Cup.
The former One Direction star has pursued a career in golf since the band split this year and is signed to management company Modest! Golf.
Top golfer Darren Clarke revealed the news, taking to Twitter to say: “Delighted to welcome my friend @niallofficial to Team Europe as one of our ambassadors for the 2016 Ryder Cup.”
The 22-year-old played at the BMW PGA Championship Celebrity Pro-Am in May with his good pal Rory McIlroy, and said he would like to see more women playing the sport.
“I would really like to see a lot more girls playing it because the girls' tour at the moment, the LPGA tour, is absolutely amazing, and there should be more kids playing,” he said at the charity event.
The Ryder Cup takes place every two years, usually in September, and contests between teams from Europe and the United States.
