Profile: Cathriona White: The 'little Irish girl' who became a make-up artist in LA

Cathriona White, a make-up artist from Tipperary who came to international celebrity prominence as the partner of eccentric actor and comedian Jim Carrey, has been found dead at a residence in LA.

The 30-year-old had been dating the Hollywood star on and off for the last three years, beginning from when they first met on a film set in 2012.Originally from Cappawhite, Ms White had trained as a beauty therapist in Ireland before moving to Los Angeles in 2009.

The aspiring actress described herself as a “little Irish girl” on her Instagram page and was a big GAA fan, watching the matches on 'GAA GO' - a subscription based sports channel aimed at the Irish diaspora around the world.

A keen Tipperary fan, she often posted photos and messages of support to the side on her Twitter and Instagram feed.

"Having a relaxing lounge on the beach in the knowledge my home county, Tipperary beat Galway in a fine display of hurling," she wrote celebrating the side's 2014 All-Ireland quarter-final victory.

Also a major part of her life, was her family - who regularly featured on the young make-up artist's social media accounts.

It is understood she had worked on a number of projects in Hollywood, both on camera and behind the scenes according to her IMDb profile.

Among her credits, she is noted for her work as a special effect makeup artist on the massively popular science fiction show Firefly show.
