Pippa Middleton and hedge fund manager James Matthews are engaged after eight months
Pippa Middleon is set to walk up the aisle.
The Duchess of Cambridge's little sister (32) will wed hedge fund manager James Matthews (40), whom she has been dating since last November.
The couple briefly dated in 2012 and Pippa went on to romance stockbroker Nico Jackson before ending their three year relationship last summer.
It's reported that James asked her father Michael for permission before popping the question on a stroll in the Lake District, away from the €21m townhouse they share in London.
"James is a traditionalist and very much wanted to do things properly. That meant getting his future father in law’s consent," an insider told the Daily Mail.
The pair confirmed the news to the Press Association today in a statement, saying they will wed in 2017 in what will undoubtedly be the society wedding of the year.
"Miss Pippa Middleton and Mr James Matthews are delighted to announce they became engaged on Sunday 17th July and plan to marry next year," they said in a statement released to the Press Association.
Pippa stepped out in L.K. Bennett for the Frost Summer Party on Monday night prompting speculation of a pending wedding as she strategically avoided having her left hand photographed.
Pippa and James have only made two public appearances together during their eight month courtship - during a ski trip in Lillehammer and at Wimbledon earlier this month.
The Matthews family own the exclusive Eden Rock Hotel & Villa resort on the island, frequented by wealthy jet-setters, while James' younger brother is reality tv lothario Spencer, who is confirmed for the upcoming season of I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!
The couple are expected to walk up the aisle in 2017 and considering she became an international sensation after her bridesmaid duties, it's anyone's guess what will happen when she's the bride.
