Kaley Cuoco was one of the lucky ones.
Following her split with husband of less than two years Ryan Sweeting, The Big Bang Theory star will walk away with her €63 million fortune firmly intact. Here's 5 of the top celebrity divorces that didn't go the same way.
1. Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren
After one of the most renowned cheating scandals of all time, Tiger Woods reportedly paid €89 million to his ex-wife in their 2010 divorce. As part of the settlement, the golfer also had to pay €48 million towards the couple's mortgage by January of this year. However, Woods' earnings were valued at €1.2 billion by Forbes in 2015, so he’s not exactly hurting for cash.
2. Paul McCartney and Heather Mills
Sir Paul McCartney was married to ex-model Heather Mills for six years before the pair filed for divorce in 2008. Mills sought €159 million from the singer, but wound up with a €31 million settlement, which she said she was “so, so happy” with. Yearly payments of €45,000 to pay for a nanny and school costs for their daughter Beatrice were also agreed.
3. Madonna and Guy Ritchie
Madonna and filmmaker Guy Ritchie were married for eight years before splitting in 2008. The couple had a son together, Rocco, and adopted their second child David Banda, during their marriage. The pop star reportedly paid Ritchie between €67 and €81 million, including the value of their London pub, the Punchbowl and their country home.
4. Michael Jordan and Juanita Vanoy
Basketball legend Michael Jordan's split from wife Juanita is one of the largest settlements in celebrity divorce history, ranking in at €148 million. The couple split in 2006 after 17 years of marriage. Jordan later went on to marry model Yvette Prieto in 2013, but reportedly had her sign a pre-nuptial agreement to protect his €570 million fortune.
5. Bernie and Slavica Ecclestone
Formula One CEO Bernie Ecclestone may have paid out over €1 billion in his divorce to second wife Slavica, but he has reportedly received an estimated €440,000 from her since the split in 2009. In a highly unusual settlement, court papers show that the 85-year-old receives €88 million per annum from his ex-wife's trust fund. Their marriage lasted 24 years.
