Back with a bang: Irish rugby star Sean O’Brien and girlfriend Denise Smyth are rekindled at the Leinster Ball
News that Leinster Rugby star Sean O’Brien had rekindled his romance with student Denise Smyth may have broken hearts around the nation earlier this week but the pair seemed more loved up then ever as they posed for photos at last night’s Leinster Ball.
The couple attended the annual affair in Dublin’s Double Tree by Hilton hotel last night and beamed arm in arm for the waiting crowd of photographers.
The Ireland and Leinster flanker (28) and Denise (21) met last summer but ended their relationship soon after a romantic holiday to Dubai before Christmas.
The pair rekindled their relationship in April but are believed to be keen to keep things private.
"Sean is really private about these things," an insider said.
"He's chuffed with the way things are going with Denise, but still doesn't like to put his relationships out there."
The couple joined the likes of Brian O’Driscoll and Amy Huberman, Rob and Dave Kearney and Jordi Murphy at the black tie ball.
Even Gordan D’Arcy and his wife Aoife Cogan dropped into the high profile party, despite the fact that the pair are expecting their first baby in just a week.
O'Brien is famously private when it comes to divulging details of his personal life and has managed to keep most of his romances under wraps over the last two years.
His last high profile romance was with Donegal Rose Maria McCole, whom he split with in 2013 after two years together.
