Carbs before Marbs

There comes a time, or more specifically an age, where picking up a few string bikinis in Penneys before going on holidays no longer cuts it.
A shade more support is needed. While Marbella-based Italian-Irish designer Virginia Macari's collection offers bejewelled and lace pieces that are probably more suited to posing poolside than going for a dip, there are also lots of really cleverly cut, flattering pieces well worth checking out.
We particularly like the Capri bikini in navy, above. The top is ideal for minimum tan lines, but comes with straps if you need the support. And the briefs have a thick waistband for holding in a less-than-washboard stomach.
