Master the perfect make-up to use when wearing glasses. Our four-eyed beauty expert Triona McCarthy has it all covered right here, right now!

Glasses are a big news. Models wore high-tech Google Glasses in the recent DVF show, while Marc Jacobs and Roberto Cavalli also had bespectacled models. Lots of slebs have sported the four-eyed look on the red carpet and Victoria Beckham is bringing out a six-piece collection of glasses with Cutler & Gross next January. Whether you wear them to see better or you’re embracing the geek-chic look like me, you need to know how to do your maquillage. Glasses will magnify imperfections, so use a good eye cream such as Clinique’s Even Better Eyes Dark Circle Corrector, left, €38.

Glasses, especially thick-framed ones, can leave marks in your makeup if you only use liquid foundation, so use a good pressed powder like Mac Studio Fix Compact, €34.

Glasses cast a shadow, so cover dark circles with a noncreasing concealer like the amazing Giorgio Armani Maestro Eraser, €32.50, which my mum, who is a spectacle wearer, loves. Don’t pile on the eyeshadow or you could look like Dame Edna!

The Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Quad Collection, €58.50, Brown Thomas, consists of eight quads, including 07 Saharan Blush, above right. My favourite, 06 Boudoir, has shades ranging from a dewy coral to an intense mahogany.

Eyeliner is essential and should be consistent with your glasses’ frame size. The thicker the frame, the thicker the liner.

Keep your brows well groomed with Smashbox Brow Tech To Go, right, €23. Finally, lash on some mascara, put a pop of colour on your lips and see if the boys will make passes!
