Triona's trends: This year is is all about bright colours. The catwalks were awash with shocking pinks, cute corals and raunchy reds. As I always say, a bold new lip shade is a quick, inexpensive way to update your look for the new season.

My lovely friend Leonard Daly, the bestest make-up artist and hairstylist in the world, showed me his Japonesque Pro Lipstick Palette, €30 from Arnotts, which has 35 deep compartments for mixing lipsticks like a pro.

See my picture for his fabulous hair and make-up work as well as Leonard’s own palette, which he painstakingly put together over two days. Leonard’s a freelance make-up artist. I’m loving Mac’s matt lippie in Candy Yum Yum, €18. Leonard told me if you aren’t used to wearing a strong shade, then blend it on with your finger for a kissed-off-style stain.

IsaDora are also doing brilliant brights with their new Jelly Kiss Lipstick. I love Lilac Tulle, €12.95. Look out for their complimentary zipped make-up purse, free with any purchase of two products from IsaDora. For the cheeks, check out YSL’s Creme De Blush No 5 Fuchsia Temptation, €42, and turn pink with pleasure.

Triona's tricks

“I want it all, I want it all, and I want it now!” I’m all about instant gratification. For a really fast face-fix, put your head upside down then tap your face all over with your fingertips for one minute, from the jawline up. The difference this makes to your complexion is crazy.

You can see the results instantly. Just the way we like it.

Soak away my sins

I’ve got a potty mouth, so it’s high time I cleaned up my act. I’ll start by washing my sins down the drain with some Abahna bath products.

They are available from Louise Kennedy’s flagship store on Merrion Square. Hmmm, maybe I’ll be more like Louise, who’s always ladylike. I love bath oils because you can get clean, unwind and moisturise all at the same time. I love the newly launched line, which bears the scent of Lilac Rose & Geranium.

I like to make my bath a multi-sensory experience with soft, glowing light and exquisite scents, so an Abahna candle, below, which only uses 100 per cent natural wax for clean and even burning, is a must.

It’s presented in a beautiful drawer-style box .The Abahna range is priced from €20 to €45. Louise Kennedy, 56 Merrion Sq, D2, tel: (01) 662-0056, or see www.louisekennedy.com

Don't fade away

Granted, the curtains match the carpet. But the colour scheme just ain’t working, sister. If you ask any woman who colours her hair how she looks after it, chances are she’ll tell you about the dilemma she faces between looking after her colour with dedicated colour-care products and achieving her desired, glossy, healthy end look.

Pantene Pro-V’s Colour Protect & Smooth collection claims to solve that problem. Combining leading colour know-how from global brands also in the Proctor & Gamble stable, such as Clairol and Wella, with Pantene Pro-V’s in-depth knowledge of hair health, the new Colour Protect & Smooth collection claims to deliver a winning combination of protection from colour fade and damage caused by combing and styling as well as the perfect end look. The range includes a shampoo, and conditioner, from €2.99 for each variant, plus three treatments including an intensive Colour Seal Concentrate, €5.49.

Your new do is more than certain to attract plenty of male attention!

Cult product

They say you should love the skin you’re in. But that can be difficult when you have an enormous spot on your chin. For a zit that just won’t quit, grab some Garnier 2-in-1 Pure Active Tinted Spot Roll-On, €9. This handy product works both to clear up spots and conceal them.

The roll-on metal-ball action is seriously soothing and it has a cooling effect on inflamed, irritated skin. Another plus is that you’re not contaminating your skin further by touching it with your dirty digits. So it will conceal a spot and reveal radiant skin. And you’re definitely into that.

Triona's most wanted

So Anna, my baby sister, has gone travelling for the year with her boyf Evan, Laura has moved back to Melbourne, and Tricia is on an extended trip in the sky, so it’s just me and Mum now. Laura is what I call a ‘Four Seasons’ girl. She wears Uggs with a denim mini and bare legs, and a tiny vest with a big scarf and sunglasses. She’s dressed for all four seasons — geddit?

Speaking of the Four Seasons, have you ever tried out the spa there? OMG — as Laura would say — it’s A-mazing! They use the Sodashi product range, which not only smells divine but is 100 per cent chemical free. The range is known for its anti-ageing and balancing qualities. So I’m thinking the Sodashi-sensitive 55-minute facial for €120 would be just what Mum and I need to give us glowing skin just like Vanessa Hudgens, right. The cooling mists and soothing gels will nurture our skin, while the Sodashi plant essences and herbal extracts will strengthen our capillaries and desensitise skin.

Grab your coat, and Uggs, Mum, we’re heading out! Four Seasons Hotel Dublin, Simmonscourt Rd, D4, tel: (01) 665-4000
