Do you ever get 'The Happies'? You know that feeling where you're just delighted with yourself altogether, and happy out? Chocolate can bring it on, or new shoes, or a phone call from your best friend.
What gives me an awful dose of it is a walk on the weekends with my family. Will says it's like giving me a happy pill - I just giggle away at everyone and anything.
TOP TIP: Bursting into laughter releases endorphins, the body's feel-good chemicals, which can help boost the immune system.
With the recent good weather, you may have seen, or even heard, me and my clan giggling our way around Herbert Park or Marlay Park.
We like to get out early in the morning, so there's little time to think about myself, with bottles and nappies and prams and buggies to get loaded into the car. However, I always make sure to pop on some Soleil Plaisir, the new Darphin sun range that offers highly effective sun protection.
Soleil Plaisir Sun Protective Cream For Face SPF 50, €34, (it also comes in SPF 30) prevents lines, wrinkles and age spots, while deeply moisturising and replenishing hydration levels in the skin.
I pull my hair back in a ponytail - Maxi, who is with me in my photo, loves to pull it - and pop on Silvikrin Hairspray, €4.49, as it contains UV protection, gives a long-lasting, natural hold and brushes out easily.
Eau Thermale Avene High Protection Compact Foundation SPF 50, €25, gives fresh-looking skin, with excellent coverage. The compact is very handy for touch-ups.
Finally, Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick SPF 15, €23, helps moisturise, soften and smooth lips. The formula is enriched with emollients, protective sunscreen and vitamin E to moisturise, smooth, and soften lips for lots of kissies. Happy face!
Maxi and Mini's baby powder is great for absorbing oil in greasy hair and giving it a little lift at the roots. Sprinkle the teeniest bit on to your hands at night, and rub gently into the roots. If your hair looks a little white, don't worry, it'll be gone when you wake up in the morning, along with your greasy hair.
BRING IT THONG
Have you seen that Tayto ad on TV where the girl is at the bus stop and she bends over and you see her big, flowery, granny knickers through her leggings? Well, Will says that's me! I never knew my leggings were so see-through, and now I see women everywhere inadvertently flashing their knickers or thongs through their leggings!
When we're out walking, Will makes me laugh, as he says it's like a modern-day wet-T-shirt competition, and I tell him that bottoms are the new boobs, after all.
My mum thought it was one of my attention-seeking fashion statements, but I didn't realise and nobody told me. I can't see behind me. All those gals probably genuinely don't have a clue either.
If you're a bit of a flasher, you might want to check out L'Occitane's Amande Velvet Serum, €46, and Almond Body Balm, €49. Both are inspired by the latest face-care product innovations, so they're specifically formulated to help improve signs of ageing on the body.
Slather the scentilicious lotions on and help reduce the appearance of age spots and hyperpigmentation, while helping to restore firmness and reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
We just HAVE to talk about Lisa Vanderpump. I spend Sunday nights watching her on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and then Vanderpump Rules. I can't get enough of her and her ridic dog, pink or purple ensembles, custom-made shirts, all while she's dripping in diamonds and being passive-aggressive. But most of all, I love her hair. I want to look like her when I'm 60, or whatever age she is.
Lisa is a lady who looks like she knows how to treat herself. I bet if she lived in Dublin, she'd be over at Harvey Nichols in the Dundrum Town Centre, tel: (01) 291-0488, every Tuesday, for #TreatYourselfTuesday - the clue is in the name. On Tuesdays, a Show Blow Dry and a Shavata file and paint is only €30.
TRIONA'S MOST WANTED
I'm really immature for my age, while Will is way more mature, so nobody ever guesses he's actually nearly six years younger than me. Although he hates me mentioning my age, because he says it makes him seem old!
So I haven't been able to celebrate my 40th birthday, as Will says we'll just have a joint one, in 2020!
So I'll be using lots of Payot's new Elixir Ideal, €49.50, a skin illuminator and perfector that delays, protects and, the makers claim, helps repair signs of skin ageing - life doesn't begin at 40, it begins to show at 40!
This unique formula unifies complexion irregularities such as brown spots and redness, smooths wrinkles and pores and leaves my skin looking more luminous.
I use it a couple of times a week, morning and evening, on cleansed skin, alone or underneath my regular day/night cream, when I feel my skin needs an extra dose of moisture and is looking a bit, em, mature!
"That broke a bigger fall," is what Judith O'Brien, who works in a jewellers, told me her mother always says when somebody has had a bit of an accident. I love to hear a new expression, especially one that cheers me up, as we were talking about my son Maxim's broken leg. I was in looking at the most amazing diamonds, which nearly took the sight out of my eyes! I had a twinkle in my own eyes, though, as I had on Urban Decay's Moondust Eyeshadow in Glitter Rock, €19.
The mauve-y colour suits all eye colours and feels like a cream but sets like a powder for a smooth, radiantly reflective look.
