Being a total lipgloss fanatic, I feel I'm well-equipped to tell you that this is one of the best I've tried.

The applicator is precise, the colour is strong and the finish is glassy without being sticky.

Rouge Allure Extrait De Gloss, €30.50

Chanel, available in Brown Thomas Dublin.

The colour is subtle but the shine and texture is intense. Also, considering its long-lasting credentials, it's not tacky and feels good on the lips: the perfect first-date lipgloss.

Larger Than Life Lip Gloss, €25

Nars, available in Brown Thomas Dublin and narscosmetics.eu

This provides really rich, dramatic colour that lasts and doesn't bleed.

Its small, thin brush means it's perfect for precise application, and the intensity of the colour means a little goes a long way.

Product of the week

Total Effects Moisturiser and Serum Duo, €23.74 Olay, available in department stores and pharmacies nationwide

Ideal for people who don't have the time or money to invest in both a serum and an anti-ageing moisturiser. But that's not its only benefit: it's a super product that will leave a dewy rather than greasy finish to your skin.

Star buy

L'Eau Florale D'Imortelle Brightening Mist, €16 L'Occitaine, available in L'Occitane boutiques and selected department stores nationwide

The perfect pre or post make-up quick-fix if your skin is feeling and/or looking dry and dull. Simply spray it on bare or made-up skin, and the mist, which is laced full of nourishing ingredients, somehow works to refresh and illuminate.
