Supermodel Kate Upton shares her skin and diet habits

The 22-year-old model may look flawless in her advertising campaigns, but if left to her own devices things could be different. She is a fidget, which often plays out in her fiddling with her skin.

"I have a problem; I pick my face! I can't leave it alone and it gets to the point where I need a professional to take over," she told Marie Claire magazine.

"If I'm in New York I'll see Christine Chin at her spa. I love her microdermabrasion treatment. At home I use Dr. Hauschka masks to keep my skin in check."

The problem is made worse thanks to Kate's busy schedule. She has appeared in most of the big fashion magazines, won the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue twice and appeared in the movie The Other Woman alongside Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann.

All of this means her skin tends to take a battering, so she's learnt that using a super hydrating moisturiser often is the only way to ensure she looks her best.

Working out is another essential part of the voluptuous model's life.

"I love going to the gym - I try to go three times a week. I live a very stressful lifestyle, so it's good for me to work all that stress out," she explained. "I never do anything dramatic in preparation for a shoot, but my trainer David Kirsch definitely bumps up the intensity of my routine, taking me through full-body workouts."

While some models insist they eat anything and still stay slim, Kate admits she is careful about her diet. It isn't much of a chore though, as making the right choices is something which comes easily to the star.

"Kale, cucumber, ginger, apple and celery is my favourite juice," she said. "I'm lucky because I genuinely prefer healthy treats like shakes, smoothies and juices. I feel better when I'm drinking them; my body feels better and I'm more awake."
