Rachel Hunter's face has people talking in more ways than one.

The 46-year-old former model is undergoing a series of popular beauty treatments around the world for her new series Tour of Beauty and her latest trial involves shaving her face in Japan.

She shared a clip of the treatment, which is said to exfoliate the skin and reduce wrinkles by removing all fine hair from the face, in which she looks petrified as the beautician shaves her face with a throat razor.

It's known as Kao Sori in Japan and echoes popular sentiment in Hollywood where women, including Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe, were said to shave their faces to look more youhtful.

The results only last three weeks and once you start the process, you need to keep it up in order to avoid developing stubble.

Face shaving has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years thanks to beauty bloggers boosting its supposed benefits and even some doctors support its anti-ageing results.

Dermatologist Joshua Zeichner told Yahoo Beauty earlier this year, "Many people feel that men age better than women because they shave their faces. The regular skin exfoliation that occurs along with hair removal improves skin radiance.”

“Be sure to prep the skin with shaving gel, just as you would when shaving your legs. After shaving, apply postshave moisturizer to improve skin hydration and minimize the risk of skin irritation.”
