My Make Up And Me: Zoe Clark
Zoe Clark began her career with MAC cosmetics, now freelance Zoe has built an impressive client list working in many areas of make-up including television, fashion and print. Here she opens up her make-up bag and shares some of her top tips.
I have my morning make-up routine down to 15-20 minutes. I tend to go for the full look that includes foundation, concealer, powder, bronzer, blusher, eye shadow, gloss - the works.
First memories of make-up?
Watching my grandmother putting on her own make-up. She used to have this pale green eye shadow that I used sit and play with.
Elizabeth Arden flawless finish. I had this black dress and was going to the local disco. I had a few blemishes at the time and my dress had a low back so I slapped this all over my face and back as a result.
What's your top tip?
Less is more. It was actually a hairdresser who had been in the business a long time who had been working with lots of other make-up artists who gave me this advice and I've stuck to it since.
In the bag and on the wish-list?
Mac Face & Body foundation, concealer, powder, Bobbi brown light bronzer, Mac Pink Swoon Blush, Estee Lauder more than mascara in black, Mac Ample pink lipgloss. I'd love to try Chanel Pro Lumiere foundation as I've heard that's really good.
What's the most you've ever spent on a product and why did you buy it?
I am forever spending a lot of money of make-up as it is my profession. I tend to opt for products with average price range rather than the outrageous which I couldn't justify.
Do you tend to go for bargain buys or are you swayed by the adverts?
I have to keep in line with the current trends but I do tend to have my favorites that I know will work and re-stock these. Of course if I hear of some amazing product I will go and try it first and if I think it will suit my kit or my courses I will invest.
Where do you shop for a beauty fix?
Is there a trend you would like to see come back in fashion?
No. Every look can be adapted to current trends in one form or another.
If you could snoop in anyone's make-up bag, who would it be and why?
Oh, any of the top international make-up artists such as Pat McGrath, Charlotte Tilbury, Alex Box.
Can you tell us what product, secret or beauty tip that you couldn't live without?
The product that I couldn't live without is my eyebrow pencil. A lot of people forget how important your eyebrows are and how they frame your face. Well shaped eyebrows speak volumes.
