RnB singer Mariah Carey and cosmetics giant MAC are teaming up for a holiday collaboration.
"All I want for Christmas is...." a Mariah Carey x Mac lipstick.
The pop star, famed for that catchy festive tune, is working with the Canada based makeup brand on a limited edition lipstick.
The shimmery nude lipstick is to be named 'All I Want' and is expected to launch the product on December 3rd.
Meanwhile, a full cosmetics range entitled Mariah x Mac Beauty Icon is expected to land later in the New Year.
MAC has previously teamed up with big name performers Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga and Rihanna for its 'Beauty Icon' drops, and has delivered limited edition ranges inspired by everyone from Dame Edna to Miss Piggy.
“Mariah is the over-the-top pop and beauty icon,” MAC Creative Director James Gager reveals. “Throughout the years we’ve all watched her with admiration and feel right now she is at her ultimate best. She exudes elegance, glamour, sophistication, and a sense of fun. Her ‘All I Want’ lipstick is the perfect frosty holiday shade and her Beauty Icon collection will be everything you think of when you think MAC and Mariah.”
The lipstick will be exclusively available online at maccosmetics.com
Speaking to Popsugar, Mariah said that she wanted to go for something less obvious for the Holiday Season, and avoided developing a cliché red lip stain.
"It’s actually a champagne shimmer with a frost texture. I wanted to go away from the typical red lip that everybody usually does for Christmas. It’s really beautiful. “All I Want” is such an evergreen song for me, and it’s a natural name for the lipstick."
"I’ve always loved the frosty lip for Winter, because I think it blends in with the tone of the season. Even growing up, the shade is something that I would gravitate towards. I don’t look good in a red lip, and I wanted to be able to wear the color. I know a lot of people who don’t care for red lipstick, either," she continued.
