Make-up Muse: Olivia Wilde
Actress, model and the new face of Revlon, 27 year old Olivia Wilde is hot property at the moment. The New Yorkers signature style of mixing every day favourites with high end couture has made her one to watch on the red carpet, and her natural beauty has recently seen her take the No.1 slot in Maxim magazine's Hot 100.
The former OC star recently stepped up to promote her latest film, Cowboys and Aliens, teaming a simple Tom Ford dress with smokey eyes and a sci-fi inspired hair creation. Here's how to get Olivia's look.
Olivia always stays true to her natural creamy colouring for the base. Preferring minimal foundation with just a hint of blusher. For a similar look, work an ultra light foundation like Givenchy's Photo'Perfexion Light Fluid onto skin with a big brush before hiding imperfections with a concealer like Benefit's Bo-Ing. A light cream blush like Maybeline's Dream Moose in Peach Satin can then be lightly swept across cheeks and some additional sparkle can be added by dabbing a highlighter like Make Up For Ever's Uplight in Dewy Golden Warm along the cheekbones.
Soft smoky eyes are Olivias signature red carpet style, and she rarely strays from her palette of light greys and charcoals. Begin by working a Kohl pencil along upper and lower lids before smoothing a base of creamy shadow across the socket and brow bone. A deep grey like MAC's Silver Ring can then be blended across the sockets and into the creases of the eyes before definition is added by smudging a black shadow like Estee Lauders Black Crystals Metallic into the upper lash line. A cat flick of liquid liner and two coats of lengthening mascara will complete the look.
Although no stranger to lips that are bold and blood red, on this occasion Olivia worked those sultry eyes with softer nudes. For a similar finish, define lips with a nude pencil like MAC's Spice before applying a creamy lipstick like Estee Lauders All Day Lipstick in Cafe Latte straight from the bullet.
Olivia's perfectly glossy do was given a sci-fi twist and those ombre locks have been teased into a bunched pony tail. With the high pony tail such an adaptable look it's easy to make it work for most occasions. Simply secure at the crown and wrap elastic at the tail in 1 inch intervals . A satin ribbon can then be placed at the base for a fun twist on this classic finish. We love Olivia's new look!
