Make-up Muse: Olivia Palermo

New York socialite and fashionista extraordinaire, Olivia Palermo effortlessly mixes vintage, preppy chic and boho designer separates.
She is an equally cool customer on the make-up front. Neat, natural, and with just a touch of shine, Olivia works her olive skin and huge brown eyes to dazzling effect.
To steal this you'll need hydration and plenty of it. Start with MAC's Prep and Prime to prep, and for imperfections around the eyes YSL's Touch Eclat, if gently dabbed, will provide an even finish.
Moist skin, or at least the appearance of it, is really what gives Olivia that dewy finish. Blend foundation with your fingers where you need to, and buff the rest from the centre outwards. Again, keeping with Olivia's moist look, hydrating foundation like Bobbi Brown's Luminous Moisturizing Foundation will help dry skin toward a healthy glow and in just the right measure.
If you already have enough shine, reduce the oil with Laura Mercier's Oil Free foundation and add a touch of pressed powder and a swirl of blush like Benefit's Coralista to complete the base.
Olivia favours natural tones for eye make-up, mixed with lashings of lashes. Creams, taupes and light browns are all standards in the Palermo palette and will work for most of us when blended properly. Try washing a nude shade like Essential by Bourjois from lids to brow which will even out tone, before working a slightly darker shade like MAC's Soft Brown along the socket and crease.
Olivia's lashes are always her stand-out feature and although it's not something we can all work to perfection, a little curling will go a long way. Try Model Co's heated LashWand for a curvier flutter and add a buildable mascara to recreate Olivia's intense lash line.
If you are adding more than two coats, keep the formula thin rather than thick which will mean you get the thickness without the stick. Chanel's Inimitable Mascara is great for the upper and lower lashes as the formula allows you to build the desired look.
Staying with the natural trend, Olivia's lips are kept easy and light.
Rimmel's Latino works well for this, but if you need to take things down a shade or two Bobbi Brown's Brownie Pink will provide a darker hue.
Olivia's shiny brown mane always frames her face beautifully and being the A-list socialite and designer muse, we rarely see her without it blow-dried to perfection. For ladies who don't lunch, try applying a few drops of Moroccan oil before drying damp hair with a paddle brush.
For a final touch of shine, a quick spritz of Bed Head's Massive Shine will leave you good to glow. Clean, classy, perfect for day wear - we love Olivia's look!
