Make-up Muse: Liz Hurley

Liz Hurley has dazzled on every red carpet from London to Islamabad since she first found fame in that famous safety pin dress. Her doe eyes, full lips and pared back styling hasn't changed too much over the years, preferring to let her revealing dresses do the talking.
Her 45 years prove that beauty doesn't stop at 30 and although her skin might not be as smooth as it once was, working with her age, rather than against it, has made all the difference in the long run.
Simply, Liz always seems to look natural, believable and fresh.
To get Liz's make-up look, hydrating moisturisers and plenty of illuminating foundation are an absolute must. Try Benefit's Total Moisture Facial Cream to perk up dull skin and add a light, flattering finish with Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation. For powder, a sheer option works well with skin d'un certain age and the goal is always to get the maximum in cover with the the minimum in caking. For that final touch of colour to cheeks, touch in apples and complete the base with a pale pink blush like Benefit's Dandelion.
Liz really knows how to add the most in drama to her eyes. Lashes and linings are larger than life, lines are gently erased with a natural eye shadow base and her eye colour choices always seem to be under rather than overdone. Try Trish McEvoy's Eye Base Essentials as a primer before gently blending an eye pencil like MAC's Teddy kohl across the lash line. By blending with a finger rather than a brush, kohl can be kept nicely subtle.
To really get Liz's signature smokey look, add gentle dabs of a deep brown shadow like Caviar by Bobbi Brown, working the outer corners of the lid and then blending towards the inner lid. To finish eyes, add a touch a brown shadow under the lower lash-line and complete lashes with a couple of sweeps of Rimmel's Volume Flash Mascara.
If the eyes are about drama, then Liz's lips are about softness and her look is balanced by keeping things natural, shimmery and perfectly nude. Prep lips by lining with a nude liner like MAC's lip pencil in Spice before gently brushing a pale pink lipstick like Bobbi Brown's Pink Buff across lips. For added shine, use Gloss Effect 3D in Transparent Oniric by Bourjois.
Liz likes to style her hair with plenty of bounce and give it plenty of shine. Try wrapping large rollers through sections of damp hair as you blow dry and finish with a spritz of Chroma Cristal by Kerastase.
There could well be more to her youthful glow than meets the eye - her routine is said to include regular facials, a pot or two of Creme de la Mer and plenty of nutrients, but since we love her look for showing us as much as it hides, who could forgive the original other half her time in the spotlight when she works this hard at looking so natural.
