Blake Lively, the 24-year-old star of Gossip Girl star stepped out on Saturday night to celebrate becoming the face of Mademoiselle, the latest handbag collection by Chanel. Donning a couture Chanel creation in silver, Blake kept true to her classic style by teaming the dress with delicate pearls and a pared back make-up look.
For her make-up look, Blake always seems to keep things light and simple. For the base, begin by prepping skin with a hydrating moisturiser like Cow Shed's Quinoa Hydrating Daily Moisturiser before gently finger-blending a sheer foundation like Bobbi Brown's Skin Foundation, smoothing at the edges of the face for a flawless finish.
Next, take a liquid concealer like MAC's Select Cover Up Concealer and gently dab blemishes and under eye circles for a more uniform finish.
When it comes to the blush, Blake favours a natural flush so anything too red is going to be overdoing it - try applying a cream blush like Nars Cream Blush in Penny Lane along the apples of the cheeks.
If your skin is prone to shine a sweep of Shiseido's Sheer Matifying Compact will soften the sheen. If your skin is on the dry side, a little highlighter along the cheekbones will give the base a little more natural definition.
Blake favours neutral shades for eye make-up and for her latest look she mixed creams and browns for a soft, flattering finish. Begin with an eyeshadow primer like Benefit's Lemon Aid Eyelid Primer to even the skin and keep shadow in place, and work creamy shades like Bobbi Brown's Eye Shadow in Banana across the lid and up to the brow bone.
Next, a sweep of light brown like Mac's Soba across lids and into the crease of the eye will ensure that soft, smokey finish.
Blake's lustrous lashes always seem to be the main event and whilst we aren't all blessed with max lashes, a bit of faking here and there will help mirror that famous Lively lashline. For the falsies, Eylure do a selection of lashes that are easy to apply and if you don't have the time or inclination for full-on fakery, curling lashes before applying MAC's False Lashes Mascara might just get you where you need to be for some full on fluttering.
Blake's pearly whites are almost always framed with a coral smile and this softly softly treatment of lips really helps with her pared back look. A nude pencil should keep colour balanced while a pigmented gloss like Bourjois Lip Gloss Effect 3D will help add plenty of colour without drying out lips.
Finally, whilst Blake's natural look works a charm for her laid back sense of style, there's no harm in adding a statement finish when it comes to the hair. For those trademark big blonde locks, try oversized rollers in damp hair and don't be afraid to work in some volume with the brush and the blow-dry. We love this look.
