Make-up Muse: Anne Hathaway
Classy, sassy and with more than a hint of Hollywood glam, Anne Hathaway has become an A list leading lady as well as dazzling us on the red carpet in recent years.
Anne prefers classic styling on the red carpet. Recently spotted in a figure hugging gold embroidered Alexander McQueen frock at the New York premiere of her new movie One Day, the 28 year old starlet added dramatic eyes and soft red lips to her look. Here's how to get Anne's look.
Clear, bright and always blemish free, Anne's pearl skin is always aided by a light, dewy base. Begin by hydrating with a moisturiser like Yes To Tomatoes Totally Tranquil Lotion before brush applying Bobbi Brown's Skin illuminating foundation. Under eye blemishes can then be concealed with a highlighter like Guerlain Terracotta Eye Highlighter and any remaining problem areas covered by MAC's Studio Finish Concealer. Subtle shading on cheeks will finish the base and for a similar soft glow, use a light bronzer like Guerlain's Terracotta Light Sheer Bronzing Powder.
Anne likes plenty of drama for the eyes. Lots of lashes, thick slicks of kohl liner and smokey brown shadow are her red carpet staples and form the perfect backdrop for those huge brown eyes. To even out skin tone use a wash of nude shadow from lid to brow bone before working a soft brown hue like Bobbi Brown's shadow in Birch across the socket and into the crease. MAC's Smut can then be used on the upper and lower lash lines and blended to give some depth to this look. Next, take a kohl pencil like Maybeline's Kohl Express Eyeliner and line the upper and lower lids before sweeping two coats of lengthening mascara where needed.
Anne's lips are rarely without a hint of rouge and she tends to favour the lighter shades. Think soft nudes, peaches, baby pinks and the softest of reds. Use a nude liner across lips to prevent bleeding before applying a light coral like MAC's Costa Chic straight from the bullet. Anne's tumbling brown tresses always look soft, silky and with just the right amount of bounce. To get that finish try an overnight conditioner like Bumble and Bumble's Conditioner and gently tong hair ends after blow drying for a slightly curled effect. We love this look.
