The Twilight star has been tapped to represent the still unnamed women’s scent which is set to launch later this year.

Kristen is thrilled with the appointment.

“Balenciaga has always stood out to me. Even when I first began to consider fashion and admittedly rarely knew the brand I was wearing, I always recognised and loved Balenciaga. It feels full circle to be involved with something that spoke to me then and of course continues to excite me now,” she told WWD. “The brand is just cool. That’s the way it is. I feel drawn to it. It provokes on a number of levels. It isn’t afraid or contrived. It hits a very cool balance, always. Always pretty undeniable.”

Kristen has impressed Balenciaga. The label’s creative director Nicolas Ghesquière said the stunning star was the muse for the new fragrance.

“Kristen embodies the modernity of the new Balenciaga fragrance with her unique sensibility and intelligence,” Nicolas gushed. “From her early appearance in Panic Room to her independent choice of Welcome to the Rileys, I’ve always sensed her progressive character. In 2006, I invited her to appear in a project shot by Bruce Weber. Since then, I’ve always wished to collaborate with her further, knowing that she shares the radical spirit of Balenciaga.”

Meanwhile, Mia Wasikowska has been named the newest face of Miu Miu.

The Australian actress has been tipped to take over at the luxury fashion brand and will star in their Spring/Summer 12 campaign shots.

Mia is replacing Guinevere van Seenus who represented the label for resort 12.

It will be her first major fashion campaign.

Mia is best known for starring in Cary Fukunaga’s adaptation of Jane Eyre last year.
