Beauty sleep might just be a myth.

We're encouraged to get eight hours every night to allow our body to properly recover from the day and we've long been told the importance those precious zzz's make to our beauty regime.

But according to celebrity dermatologist Dr Murad, who created his own successful skin care range, too much time in bed might be giving us wrinkles thanks to pesky pillow marks.

The American Academy of Dermatology supports the idea that sleeping in certain positions will increase and cause wrinkles. The reason for this has to do with repetitive motion leading to wrinkles over time and gravity," he told Look Magazine.

This comes from either the way you sleep on your pillow or even worse, when you lay on your back, you're allowing the creation of creases.

He still says sleep is the best gift you can give your skin, but you'll have to be like Goldilocks searching for just the right amount.
