'I would never wear a short skirt at my age'

Caroline McNamara (49), owner of Polish Hand and Foot Spa, says it's wiser to retire some looks post 40, the busy mum-of-two explains:
"I believe that after 40 you've had your time and now it's best to leave the teen stuff to the teens. I would never wear a short skirt and a plunging neckline at my age and, as mum to teenage children, I would be loathe to embarrass them.
"I don't think I look, and I certainly don't feel, nearly 50 and I feel confident in myself to try new styles, but always keeping within the rules. The best way to describe my style would be simplistic elegance. I love well tailored clothes and designs by Louise Kennedy. On a night out my favourite look would be a well cut dress with a high heel and tights -- no need to draw attention to the slightly blemished skin underneath!
"I think it's ridiculous to see ladies in their late 40s wearing mini skirts and boob tubes, no matter how good they think they look. I imagine a lot of it is down to seeking attention but what they don't realise it that it can be achieved with a more elegant look."
