Nine aspiring beauty queens from across the country are vying for the title of Miss University, a position previously held by Holly Carpenter.
After winning the crown in 2010, Holly Carpenter eventually went on to secure the title of Miss Ireland.
The final of the long running beauty pageant will be held this Saturday April 25th in Dandelion nightclub.
Some of the country’s most ambitious young students will take part in the contest, which will be judged by Assets Modelling Agency boss Courtney O’Hara, Social & Personal magazine’s Richard Kavanagh, Emily MacKeogh of Crystals & Co as well as last year’s Miss University winner Elaine Galvin.
Hannah Quirke (19) of DIT Cathal Brugha Street wants to focus her efforts of drug development for Alzheimer’s.
Rebecca Hanley (20), of NUI Maynooth is studying early childcare, is planning to further her studies into diagnosing developmental disorders.
Then there are those who want to serve the community – Hannah Kearns (21) from DIT Aungier Street hopes to apply for An Garda Siochana as soon as openings become available, while Miss Trinity Roise Ni Mhaonaigh (18) is a Junior Editor at Trinity’s prestigious Law Gazette.
