Having greasy, unclean hair makes women feel self conscious, and is often the first thing that they notice about other women.

Research commissioned by Pantene Pro-V reveals that almost 70% of women claim whether their hair looks greasy is their top appearance concern ahead of an important business meeting- with a third of women always restyling their hair before a meeting.

Nearly half of all women surveyed said that above all else, they first notice how clean or dirty another woman’s hair is when they first meet them, validating women’s self-consciousness around having unclean hair.

Half of the women aged 18-24 claimed they felt pressured to style their hair and wear make0up in the office, with a staggering 73%  of women in this age group saying they put extra effort into their appearance because it gives them more workplace confidence.

A third of these women also admitted they thought their boss or colleagues would take them more seriously.

Out of those surveyed who use dry shampoo on a regular basis, Tuesday is evidently the mid-week-hair-slump, with a fifth of women reaching for the spray can to disguise oily roots and give tired, lack lustre hair a boost.
