Get the Look: Demi Moore

With her tumbling raven locks and dazzling brown eyes it doesn't seem like 20 years since Demi Moore shot to international fame in Ghost.
Quite where the time has gone in Demi's case is anyone's guess and whilst it hasn't exactly stood still, few would deny she looks closer in years to younger husband Ashton Kutcher at 35 than she does to her own 50.
Taking the 'less is Moore' approach Demi almost always lets her complexion take centre stage and as the secret to her youthful skin is almost certainly more than just good genes and simple moisturising, those of us looking to steal Demi's look will have to be brave to keep things so natural. Simply, if you happen to have Demi's skin, you should definitely flaunt Demi's skin.
Since the only way of getting Demi's youthful glow seems to be if you're born with it, those of us with the odd blemish here and there might still find a little something up our sleeves. For dry skin, swap the usual powders for a hydrating tinted moisturiser like Dermalogica Sheer Tint Moisture and for uneven skin tone, Guerlain's Precious Light Concealer will even out the minor imperfections as well as hiding those dreaded dark circles. If you feel positively naked without the cover, applying an illuminating foundation like Nars Sheer Glow with a foundation brush will work wonders.
A hint of rouge to cheeks will help add the necessary flush and colour. A liquid cheek tint like Benefit's Benetint instead of a powder blush will give cheeks a glow from within the skin and you won't have to worry about powder in the wrong places or colour that seems too forced.
When it comes to the eyes, Demi complements hers by keeping make-up simple and choosing colours to complement rather than define or dazzle. Try shading a nude hue like Rimmel's Colour Rush Mono Eyeshadow in Moonstone across the socket and brow bone which will work to highlight and then gently sweep a grey shadow like Lancome's Colour Design in Ciel Du Soir across the socket. A sweep of volumising mascara like Maybelline New York's Lash Stiletto on the top and bottom lashes will complete the look.
Demi's lips are almost always kept soft and natural and if you're going to steal this one, a slick of natural gloss like Lancome's Juicy Tubes in Spring Fling should plump and define while adding the right element of soft tone.
Demi's flowing dark mane always manages to attract the right kind of attention and those lustrous locks are nothing if not conditioned. Try a deep conditioning treatment likes Shu Uemura's Full Shimmer for some much needed natural sheen and for a light but thickening finish a spritz or two of Redken's Shine Flash should keep hair shining.
With classic tailoring, great skin and a simple approach to what works best it's no wonder everyone is always shocked to be reminded that Demi is a fabulous 50. Whilst it's well known she eats well and takes care of her skin, it helps that her look is always so well judged for what works for her. Simple, timeless, natural - we love this look!
