Four of the Best: Eye shadow palettes
Published 07/04/2011 | 14:35
Purples, whites, nudes and golds, when it comes to eyes this spring anything goes. Wanting nothing more than to give some lift to our lids we at Independent Woman have been in search of the best new eye shadow shades. In no particular order, here are four of our favourite eye shadow palettes.
YSL Pure Chromatics
Personages in pursuit of playful pigments may be pleased to peruse YSL's new Chromatics Palette. Designed to work as a liquid liner as well as a standard powder, one splash is all it takes for the full intensity eye shadow to transform itself into a range of liquid colours. Packaged in YSL's signature gold casing, Chromatics also comes complete with a clever rubber applicator which means turning water into wine, gold or even pink is as simple as painting by numbers.
Available from Brown Thomas, priced at €53
Peony and Python by Bobbi Brown
With purples being big news this spring the latest palette from Bobbi Brown should please anyone with an eye for purple peepers. Housing six shades ranging from a cool ivory to a plum orchid, Peony & Python is perfect for creating Bobbi's signature natural style as well as more intense looks for evening wear. Long wearing, perfectly pigmented and bang on trend, the only thing we love more than the shadows within is the kooky snakeskin wrapping.
Available from Bobbi Brown Counters priced at €45
Mac Cutie Palette
Ladies looking for a twirl on a more neutral colour wheel could well enjoy a spin of MAC's Cutie Palette. Frosty pinks, dusty lavender and soft whites give sheer subtle shading and just a sprinkling of quietly spoken sparkle. Worn alone for a light flush of colour or layered for a more textured finish, as with all things MAC the shadow wears well and blending is a breeze.
Available from MAC priced at €47.50
Shiseido Voyage Trio
Light, luminous and softer than a bag of silk worms, dull eyes will lift in delight after a few simple sweeps from Shiseido's Voyage Luminizing Eye Shadow Trio. Featuring shimmering creams, glorious golds and barely there browns, shades can be worked from light to dark and give anything from full-on colour to soft layered pastels. As Shiseido's Voyage Trio also contains light reflecting pigments, most skin-tones can find the shade they've always been searching for.
Available from Clerys priced at €39
