Cindy Crawford: Don't mess with my mole
Original supermodel Cindy Crawford hates having her famous facial full-stop rubbed out - and says her 10 year-old daughter Kaia might become a model, because "you don't have to know how to do anything".
Not every model debuts aged 10 in a Mert and Marcus for Versace campaign. But not every model is Kaia Crawford, daughter of Cindy. That campaign for Versace's children's line might not be the last fashion sees of Kaia - although her mother says she won't start modelling in earnest until 2019.
In an interview with The Daily, New York's excellent fashion week freebie magazine, Cindy Crawford said: "At this point, she's too young to pursue a career. There aren't even a handful of jobs for a 10-year-old girl. But if she's 17 and wants to try it... of course, what can I say? She kind of jokingly said - I'm not even sure if it was jokingly - 'I might model first because you don't have to know how to do antything, but then I want to be a baby nurse."
Cindy, the memorably-moled member of the original vintage supermodel squad, told the magazine she rarely sees her old catwalk colleagues these days. "I'm still friends with Christy [Turlington], and I see Claudia [Schiffer] once in a while," she said: "We're certainly friendly, but everyone's living their own life. We're happy to see each other, but it's not like we're besties."
Looking back at her many-covered career, Crawford conceded she has a few painful memories. "The one that makes me cringe the most is British Vogue. The first time they put me on the cover, they airbrushed off my mole... whenever they mess with the mole, I cringe!"
