Day on a plate: What Laura Whitmore eats in a day

Laura Whitmore has opened up about her diet and fitness secrets
When she’s not jet-setting around the world, attending events with her celebrity friends or working in front of the camera as a TV presenter, Laura Whitmore is squeezing in a workout or cooking healthy grub.
“I think balance in life is so important, whether that's with food or working out or just finding the time to have some fun,” she said in an interview with Women’s Health Magazine.
“For me, what's quick and easy and fits into my lifestyle is key - I'm never in one place for long enough for anything too labour intensive!”
She revealed what a day on her plate usually looks like and, unlike many celebrity diets filled with diet teas and pomegranate seeds, Laura’s is pretty normal.
You can take the girl out of Ireland, but you can’t take Ireland out of the girl... the Bray-native has porridge for her breakfast to keep her going throughout the day, covered with toppings like nuts, bananas and blueberries.
For lunch, it’s “a hipster poached egg with salmon and avocado.”
She says nuts are a staple snack in her handbag, while pineapple satisfies her sweet-tooth when sugar cravings hit.
Dinner is a simple combination of fish and greens cooked in coconut oil. “I haven’t eaten red meat since I was 15 so I make sure to get my iron through my greens,” she says.
“I can’t stop eating kale – my friends keep making fun of me, even my moisturiser has kale in it!”
The 31-year-old knows the importance of drinking water throughout the day, saying: “The only other thing I'm adamant about is hydration. I've always got water with me, wherever I go.”
As for fitness, Laura prefers calmer workouts such as yoga and running to strength training.
“With my busy schedule it's nice to get up in the morning and practise yoga or go for a run. I normally manage this four times a week.”
Whether she’s in Dublin, London or Los Angeles, the blonde beauty finds the time to exercise. No excuses, so.
“I also run - I make sure I take my trainers everywhere I'm traveling to. It's the easiest workout to do anywhere in the world, and such a great way to see a new place.”
However, she doesn’t put pressure on herself to eat healthily or exercise and knows how to relax when she needs to.
“Be kind to yourself and allow yourself to be the sum of many parts. If you want a piece of chocolate, eat it, enjoy it!”
That’s a motto we can live by, if we’ve ever heard one.
The former I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here Now! presenter was spotted partying with Professor Green last week at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards. She is currently working with Naked Juice for their “What machine are you” campaign.
