Cheryl Fernandez-Versini hits back at weight critics: 'It's not nice'
Her weight has dominated coverage of the X Factor auditions, and now Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has hit out at the body shamers.
The 32-year-old has made a return to the public eye as the auditions for the talent show kick off around Britain.
However, her stylish outfits and constructive criticism to fledgling acts have been overshadowed by talk of her weight.
The former Girls Aloud star told The Sun that the constant coverage of her body is "not nice".
"It's not nice, but there are people out there going through similar things to me it hurts them," the Geordie performer said.
Cheryl earlier stated that her weight loss is due to the stress and heartbreak of losing her father-in-law.
"I am so sick and tired of it being ok to call somebody too thin. You have no idea what I have been through," she wrote on Instagram.
"I would never dream of calling somebody too fat and that they should maybe cut down on their food intake? What’s the difference?"
The Three Words singer added that she does not feel the need to justify herself to anyone.
