Beauty inspiration: Jessica Stam at the Met Ball
Supermodel Jessica Stam stole the show for glamour at this year's Met Ball. The 24-year-old teamed a vintage wave, a glowing complexion and delicate violet and brown eye make-up with a perfect purple Rachel Roy gown and Bulgari vintage jewels.
When it comes to the base, Jessica's luminous pale skin was flawless which provided the perfect backdrop for the rest of her make-up.
Those of you blessed with good skin should get the same effect from an Illuminating foundation like Sheer Glow by Nars which gives the perfect coverage without looking too heavy. For the rest of us, a radiant finish can be had with Guinot's Illuminating Foundation SPF 12 which works wonders for balancing uneven skin tones.
Jessica's delicate smokey eyes are the centrepiece to the look but never threaten to become too much of good thing.
Soft browns and violet pearls have been teamed with a slick of mascara which has given her eyes plenty of drama whilst adding to the soft, feminine, vertical curves of her outfit. For shadows, Abyssinia by Nars makes for a great pearl base and a light brown like Mac's Tempting can be built up in the eyes to create depth and definition.
With eyes taking centre stage and the focus being on the jewellery and the neckline, Jessica adds a soft, natural and feminine approach when it comes to the lips.
A lip pencil like Urban Decay's Wallflower or Smashbox's Praline will help define the lip, and a slick of nude lipstick like YSL's Honey Beige or Rimmels Spotlight Beige will add the perfect glow to any pout in the spotlight.
If the make-up is perfectly balanced, the hair is where Jessica really gets the look right by adding to the curves and offsetting the outfits symmetry with a wave of over the shoulder golden glamour. Jessica's vintage side-curl has just the perfect length and weight and that glossy shine can be had with a spritz of Shimmer Serum by James Brown once hair has been curled.
Firmly on the beauty A-list, style siren Jessica's look is all about an elegant understatement which may be why designers simply love working with her. The clothes are allowed to take centre stage and for an event which celebrates clothes, who can ask for more than that. We love this look.
