Erdem's make-up for his spring/summer show featured a soft-focus, almost kissed-off lip colour. This romantic spring look is a simple one to achieve, but lips need to be in tip-top condition if they're to hold a matt colour.

A gentle buff with a dry toothbrush is a great way to exfoliate lips in preparation. Afterwards apply a slick of a waxy lip-balm - we love The Lipbalm by Creme de la Mer (£40, cremedelamer. co.uk ) - and blot off the excess with a tissue.

Next apply MAC's Lady Danger lipstick (£13.50, maccosmetics.co.uk ) by dabbing it on with your fingertip. This will ensure you get a soft, undone look and some texture on the lip. Focus on the centre of your lips and follow the outline softly - one thing you don't want here is a lipliner look!

To add some staying power and a touch of refinement take a little of Smashbox's Finishing Powder (£29, debenhams.com ) on to your middle finger, and, after dabbing the excess off on to the back of your hand, roll it into the centre of your lips. Et voilà, the perfect romantic lip for spring.
