Published 02/02/2010 | 16:45
Lessons with Laura Mercier, limited edition lipsticks and high volume lashes are all in the mix at the beauty boutique. Independent Woman's weekly run down of what to get, what to try and where to go for it.
Be My Valentine
Anyone with a crush for Lush will no doubt be struck helpless by the visit of 'Cupids Bow'. This weeks launch puts together some nifty gift packs including the BeMine Gift Set (€21.95) which features four of Lush’s hottest products or if the whole day wasn't the love-fest you expected the Ex-Factor Ballistic bath bomb (€2.85) should help wash him out of your system for good. Available throughout February while stocks last.
One for the Diary
Laura Mercier fans will be pleased to hear that they can swap make-up tips with International artist Sarah Hill at the Laura Mercier Counter in Brown Thomas Dublin this Friday, February 5th, and Saturday, February 6th. Sarah will help you choose colours to enhance your positive features and apply them with artistry and precision. To book phone 01 605 6666.
Those of you who enjoy the routine of waiting for the paint to dry may wish to skip this one. Sally Hanson's Insta-Dri came into the bag last week with the very helpful suggestion that it could dry my nails in 30 seconds. After applying your varnish simply wait two minutes and then add one coat of insta-dry. You'll be smudge proof in a flash.
Available for €5.93 from pharmacies nationwide.
Kiss Me Quick
Estee lauder's new limited edition 'Love your lips' collection comes in uniqely designed vials and has landed at Debenhams in time for Valentines day. The twelve signature Hydra Lustre lipsticks and four lip glosses will have you puckering up in time for the 14th.
Love your lips signature lipstick (€23) and kissable lip gloss (€20) available at Estee Lauder counters in Debenhams.
Pump up the volume!
Not all of us are blessed with big lashes, so I've been casting around for products which add a bit of volume. I came across Rimmel's Max Volume Mascara which is doing more than OK so far. Available for €7.92 from Boots and pharmacies nationwide.
Urban Decay have gone all cosmic for SS10 with the launch of their Sparkly Stardust eyeshadows.
Available in nIne shades from soft neutrals to bold brights, the shadows can be worn alone for a lighter colour tone or wet for a more sparkly finish.
This season also sees the launch of Urban Decay's eyeshadow primer Sin Primer Potion - a cocktail of cult products perfect for keeping your stardust shadow in place - available at Urban Decay counters from March.
