Beauty boutique: Brows, bases and budget buys
Hollywood brows, eyeshadow bases and beauty saviours are all on this week's agenda for Beauty Sleuth - our weekly run down of what to get, what to try and where to go for it.
This weeks cult brand - Trilogy
New Zealand based brand Trilogy have come up trumps with their natural skincare range. The line, designed to be kind to both skin and the environment, includes cleansers, moisturisers, balms, oils and creams.
I've been using Everything Balm (€29.95) which, as the name suggests, soothes everything from dry winter skin to unruly cuticles.
Available from Arnotts and selected pharmacies nationwide.
Five star Buy - Trish McEvoy Eye Base Essentials
Tired eyes in need of revival will be awakened by Eye Base Essentials from Trish McEvoy. Using the notion that highlighting above the eye is as important as highlighting below, Eye Base Essentials banishes uneven tone from lid to brow creating an even palette.
Available from Harvey Nichols, €22.50.
Shake the piggy bank - NYC lipgloss
Beauty junkies eagerly awaiting pay day may find some solace with a quick trip to NYC. Although launched in Ireland last year it seems I'm one of the last to find it. Prices range from €2.99 to €5.99.
Large Lip Plumper which left me glossy rather than sticky is available from Sam McCauleys and selected pharmacies nationwide, €3.97.
Trend Watch - Les trompe - L'oeil de Chanel
Sounds posh doesn't it? Well it's basically a fake Tatoo. Fresh(ish) from the Chanel SS10 show, Peter Philips has created a collection of temporary skin art and although I'm informed there is a bit of a waiting list, the images of the lucky few that have their hands on a set are currently brightening the beauty blogosphere. Priced at €55 for 55 transfers and available from the Chanel Boutique in Brown Thomas from March 1st.
One for the diary - Take tea with Jo Malone
To celebrate the launch of the Ancillaries' collection of Vanilla and Anise, Jo Malone have teamed up with The Merrion Hotel for the month of March to offer customers a bespoke afternoon tea. Guests will receive complimentary Jo Malone samples and an invitation to experience a relaxing hand and arm massage at the Luxury Hall at Brown Thomas. The Jo Malone Afternoon Tea costs €36 per person and is available at The Merrion Hotel Dublin throughout the month of March.

Salon Finder - Elysian brows
Brow expert Libby Ryan has worked with the best in the business. Fresh from providing bewitching shapes on every catwalk she is now back in Dublin with a new salon on Dawson Street. The idea is simple, enter the salon shabby, choose what suits your look and leave with the perfect shape - sexy, subtle and ready to bewitch. For €25 you get a consultation, a sprinkling of Anastasia brow powder, the perfect shape and a soothing gel treatment which is perfect for reducing the tell tale signs of having just had your brows done.
