Be part of the 2017 Vhi Women's Mini Marathon family: get stuck in!
Sisters are doing it for themselves.
Every woman taking part in this event is on their very own journey, but the 2017 Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon is really like one big family.
Getting support from your fellow runners and walkers will keep you motivated and help you get to that starting line on June 5th.
As part of the 2017 Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon family, you can help support the other women taking part in your own way, whether that is making a WhatsApp group to keep in contact or even setting up your own volunteer running group in your local area.
Here are some ways to make your mark on the 2017 Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon:
Over the years, many volunteers have set up local running groups to help women train for the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon. Can’t find one close to you? You can lead a volunteer running group in your area. You can encourage your neighbours, friends and family to join your group. You can help more inexperienced runners by offering them advice and guidance. Just contact the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01 2930 984 to find out more about setting up your own group.
Work it out
A great team-building idea is to ask your work colleagues to enter the 2017 Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon together as a group. That way you can support each other and run together to get ready for the event. Why not pick a charity and help each other fundraise as part of your training? There is no better motivation on those dark, rainy nights than going out with your group of friends for a catch-up and a good laugh while getting your run in too. You could even get fun team t-shirts made up and keep them as a memento.
Whether you are running with friends, with your colleagues or making it a family affair, you should set up a group WhatsApp for all things Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon. You can share how you are getting on with your training and look for advice from the group. Support your very own little team by messaging them with any cool workouts or tasty recipes you come across. By having everyone in the same message thread, it makes it really easy to organise training sessions together and keep up to date with travel plans for June 5th.
