NUI Galway offers a number of prestigious courses through the Springboard+ initiative, including graduate courses in the area of technology management and software development and minor awards at honours degree level in the area of e-Business, operational excellence and high performance computing. The courses are largely delivered by blended learning so students can balance study with other interests and are free to take up work while completing the course. Placements and a variety of career supports are also offered, including a new course in professional and digital skills to give graduates that edge.

Steve Shanahan took the Specialist Diploma in Lean & Quality Systems; 'Finding myself out of work and with a skills shortage, I found the course kept me positive and focussed, added a significant level of education to my CV and has enabled me to find a new employer who is keen to use my new found skills. I had strong support from both Springboard+ and NUI Galway from registration and right throughout the course.'

Ray Waldron is another Springboard+ graduate who echoes that sentiment; 'It does feel great to be back in the workforce at last - having the Diploma was major factor in getting the job!'
