Zafayan will bid to belatedly get off the mark over timber when he lines up in the Galway Festival opener on Monday evening, the Galwaybayhotel.com & Radissonhotelgalway.com Novice Hurdle.

The Dermot Weld-trained gelding was placed on his first four efforts over timber before winning on his return to the level at Leopardstown in April.

He then ran a cracker to finish a close-up third in the Chester Cup in May.

Subsequent Ascot Gold Cup winner Trip To Paris won that race, while current Galway Hurdle favourite Quick Jack was second.

Bachasson was impressive when winning his maiden at Sligo earlier this month and he is sure to have plenty of supporters.

He won two French bumpers before joining Willie Mullins and he is owned by Edward O'Connell, who also has the great Un De Sceaux with Mullins.

Moonmeister is two from two over hurdles and he takes a step up in class.

The Gordon Elliott-trained gelding is a likeable sort and he should give a good account of himself with Luke Dempsey in the saddle.

Neverushacon was a well-backed winner on his last outing at Gowran and he is also looks to have solid claims.

Newcomer All The Answers is another who cannot be dismissed.

The Aidan O'Brien-trained gelding cost 30,000 euro as a three-year-old and he is out of Shatabdi, who won a Grade Two hurdle at Kempton in 2007.
