Ulster retain title

Ulster have won the Interprovincial football title at Croke Park

Ulster came from behind to retain the Interprovincial football title at Croke Park with a 3-12 to 0-17 win over Leinster.

Conor McManus grabbed two goals and Jamie Clarke added a third as the holders collected a record 31st title.

Beranard Brogan kicked 11 poinnts for Leinster, but while Ulster nailed all three of their goal chances, the eastern province were denied on three occasions by goalkeeper Pascal McConnell, who saved from Michael Darragh Macauley and twice from Brogan.

Three Joe Sheridan points helped Leinster to a 0-9 to 1-4 lead at the break, but when McManus netted his second goal on 40 minutes, Ulster led for the first time.

Brogan's accuracy from frees kept Leinster in touch, but Gearoid McKernan provided the assist for Crossmaglen's Clarke to fire home goal number three.
