Tyrone opted to play with the breeze and quickly found their feet as they raced into the lead with 14 unanswered points.

Mark and Matthew Donnelly and Sean Cavanagh added points but Darren McCurry was the tormentor in chief with seven points, five from play, in the first half

Offaly had only registered one wide in the first 23 minutes.

Peter Cunningham's impressive free finally saw Offaly on the scoresheet but the game was all but over even at that stage and they trailed by 0-15 to 0-1 at the break.

Offaly had the elements in the second half but Tyrone kept up the pressure and Conor Clarke and McCurry scored for Harte's men.

Tyrone's embarrassing dominance continued before Ken Casey, Brian Darby and Padraig Bracken added points for Offaly but they still trailed by 0-20 to 0-4.

Offaly had hit the crossbar but Tyrone found their rhythm again and Conor O'Neill grabbed a goal for the Red Hand men.

Both sides scored points as the game petered out with a 22 point gap at the finish.
