Leinster and Ireland star Sean O'Brien swapped his shoulder pads and scrumcap for green and yellow of the Fighting Cocks club in Carlow last night.

As the Tullow Tanks international team mates were touching down in South America for their tour of Argentina, he was playing in a Junior B match in Division Five of the Carlow league.

It was a victorious return to the GAA fold for the flanker as the Fighting Cocks beat their rivals by 3-6 to 0-11.

The Fighting Cocks second team can expect bigger crowds in their upcoming games if they can keep this rugby juggernaut in their ranks.

O'Brien returned for Leinster in the later stages of their push to a second consecutive Rabodirect Pro12 title and came on as a substitute in Saturday's victory over Glasgow.

He was left out of the Tour of Argentina to recover fully from his injury.
