A triple Wicklow sending-off in the seventh minute of injury-time rubbed salt into the wounds as Kildare stroll to victory in Arklow.

Wicklow now go into a relegation decider without free-taker Christy Moorhouse, captain Billy Cuddihy, and Gavin Weir, following a 77th-minute triple sending-off after a goalmouth incident in which Kildare keeper Paul Dermody had to be replaced.

Freetaker Gerry Keegan was the only Kildare forward to score, as half-backs Mark Moloney and Sean Gainey, put the finishing touches on what few good moves there were

After a dour first half, Kildare led 0-7 to 0-6. All of Wicklow's first-half points came through full-forward Moorhouse His 34th-minute point was Wicklow's only score from play in the entire game

Kildare rose to the fore after the break. Wicklow could only muster two further Moorhouse frees and a 70th-minute Stephen Kelly '65', as the Lilywhites pulled away, with Kildare's Ross Bergin, Mark Moloney, Niall O'Muineacháin adding to Keegan's six second-half points.
