The formidable Dermot Weld-Pat Smullen combination doubled up in the two big races at the Curragh as Stuccodor ground out victory in the www.thetote.com Irish Lincolnshire.
Despite carrying plenty of weight, the five-year-old was the 11-2 favourite for the fiercely competitive handicap following a couple of decent efforts over hurdles, and he nudged his way through a gap two and a half furlongs out to set himself up for a challenge.
Pat Shanahan's That's Plenty travelled strongly against the stands rail and looked poised for victory, but Stuccodor dug deep in the closing stages to get up and take the valuable prize by three-quarters of a length.
Canary Row and Bold Thady Quill finished third and fourth respectively, with the sole British-trained runner, Richard Fahey's Lord Aeryn, fifth.
Weld said: "He's been a very consistent horse for us and it was a very good ride from Pat.
"He was touched off by a stable companion at Galway last year, so he deserved to win a big pot and he's effective on that ground. He'll go back over hurdles later in the year."
