Spencer makes rare Dundalk visit

Jamie Spencer has been a rare enough visitor to Ireland in recent years but the former champion makes a welcome trip to the Polytrack at Dundalk for just one ride on newcomer Jocular.
The Champs Elysees half-brother to Lolly For Dolly carries the colours of Spencer's retainer, Qatar Racing, and sees him team up with another former champion Flat jockey as the colt is trained by Johnny Murtagh.
The Dundalk Stadium - Light Up Your Night Median Auction Maiden looks a competitive event despite just six going to post, and Paul Deegan is hopeful of a big show from Bint Dandy who shaped well over this mile on her debut last month.
Deegan said, "She ran a nice race first time out. She is not overly big but seems to have come forward a lot for the run, and goes there with a chance.
"I think a mile is her trip, although that's not to say she won't get further in time. She has sharpened up for the initial experience, and we will learn more from this run."
Michael Halford is always to be feared at Dundalk, and he sends out the more experienced Camakasi.
Conor Hoban's mount progressed nicely in five maiden outings last year, and should appreciate this step up in trip.
Halford is typically well-represented on the seven-race card, particularly in the Crowne Plaza Hotel Dundalk Race & Stay Package Handicap.
The ultra-consistent Political Policy is joined by stablemate Mezogiorno in this three-year-old handicap, and the former is closely matched with Murtagh's Fix It on running here a fortnight ago.
