Young Ireland talent Jack Byrne leaves Man City permanently in late deadline day move
Ireland U21 midfielder Jack Byrne secured a permanent move to Wigan from Man City just as the transfer deadline was closing last night, in a move subject to EFL and FA clearance.
Byrne, who caught the eye of many Irish fans with a series of screamers while on loan at SC Cambuur in Holland from Man City last season, joins the Latics on a three-and-a-half year deal.
The Dubliner joined English giants Man City at 15, with the 20-year-old getting sent out to Championship side Blackburn on loan this season.
However, the highly rated youngster struggled to make an impact at Ewood Park, and now joins Wigan on a permanent deal where he will hope to quickly establish himself in a side that is fighting for their Championship survival.
