They may have won the World Cup four times, but Italian football has had its fair share of disastrous moments too:
1966: World Cup squad pelted with rotten tomatoes after North Korea hand them first-round exit.
1988: Serie A stars humiliated 4-0 by Zambia at the Seoul Olympics.
1996: First-round exit from Euro '96 after Gianfranco Zola's missed penalty and Roberto Baggio's shock omission.
2005: AC Milan surrender three-goal lead to Liverpool in the Champions League final.
2006: Juventus, Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio all punished for their part in a conspiracy to influence referees. (© Daily Telegraph, London)
