Brian Kerr's best quotes from TV commentary

Brian Kerr

Brian Kerr referred to a goal Andy Reid scored against England in an under-17 clash during last night's game between Japan and Greece , here are some of our favourite quotes from a true wordsmith of the game.

After Spurs fought back from being a goal down on two different occasions and playing extra-time with 10 men after Jan Vertonghen was sent-off, they lost 4-1 in the shoot-out

Basel looked the more likely to go through, with Brian Kerr getting his prediction spot on after the 90 minutes, claiming Spurs wouldn’t have "enough jizz"  to get through.

'He's after getting it right bang in the snot' - a quote in which caused even Katie Taylor to compliment Kerr's commentary. In reference to a dodgy elbow.

Keeping on the topic of elbow's, Kerr was not pleased with Alex Son'g elbow for the Ivory Coasts clash with Japan when he said: "It doesn't give him  the right to go and almost commit a murder."

Brian Kerr has always been a catalyst for promotion of the League of Ireland and his shout out to Drimnagh Rovers was certainly a kind gesture.

Goalkeeping errors are another topic on Brian Kerr's dislikes, as he claimed that Russian number one Igor Akinfeev "made a right pig's ear of it" when he fumbled a shot from a South Korean striker.

He went on in the same game to say that it was an example of "lego football", we have no idea what he meant with that one!

With the group stage games ongoing  there is still a lot of games left to played and one thing is for sure Kerr's commentary is certainly worth staying up late for.
