Video: Wonder goal puts amateur team VV Capelle through to last 16 of Dutch Cup
Amateur Dutch side VV Capelle are through to the last 16 of the Dutch Cup after a long-range wonder-strike in extra time away at pro side Dordrecht.
The match-winner was one Jordao Pattinama, once of Feyenoord, who strode over the half-way line in a rare breakaway attack in the 112th minute before unleashing his goalbound shot.
One might well argue that there are blokes down the local park each Saturday who've got quicker feet than the professional Dordrecht goalkeeper, but neither Pattinama nor Capelle's ardent fans are likely to care.
The footage shows that Dordrecht had committed most of their team forward, pressing for a winner themselves.
Capelle stunt in de beker door buurman FC Dordrecht uit te schakelen. Jordao Pattinama schiet de amateurs in de 112e minuut naar de laatste zestien. Wat een wereldgoal!Posted by FOX Sports NL on Tuesday, 27 October 2015
The defence stand off Pattinama, but they can hardly be blamed for not anticipating the absolute beauty he was about to pull out.
The rest is history, though Pattinama's teammate who was unmarked on the opposite flank will likely always insist that Pattinama should have passed.
However, that consideration probably won't make it into future histories of this outstanding moment for Capelle, who will now return to playing their league football in the Topklasse, the Dutch third tier.
Perhaps the legend will not end with this goal, as there are plenty of top-tier [Eredivisie] Dutch sides left in the competition for Capelle to pick off next.
