Video: Iker Casillas comes to the aid of a young fan hit by a wayward shot

It may have been the force of former Blackburn striker Ruben Rochina’s off-target shot – or perhaps merely shock that Granada had mustered an attack of any kind – but a young Real Madrid fan was in a spot of bother at the Bernabeu until the intervention of goalkeeper, club captain and saviour Iker Casillas.
While Real – and five-goal Cristiano Ronaldo – went about dismantling their lowly visitors by nine goals to one (another act of benevolence from Casillas, no doubt) he alerted the stadium’s stewards and medical staff, before making a personal visit at half-time to check on the child’s well-being and offer his No.1 shirt as a rather more pleasant matchday memento.
Un buen toque (that’s Spanish for #nicetouch) from Casillas, no doubt, but one wonders if he’s setting a dangerous and expensive precedent. Soon enough, every young visitor to the Bernabeu will want to be smacked in the face by a shot from a Championship reject in the vain hope that they’ll get a valuable keepsake.
