Video: Copa del Rey crushed after Real defeat Barcelona in final
Real Madrid has been left red-faced after the Copa del Rey was crushed under the wheels of their team coach as they celebrated victory over Barcelona in last night's final.
Madrid right-back Sergio Ramos dropped the cup from the team's open-top bus as he waved to fans who had gathered in Madrid to celebrate winning the competition for the first time in 18 years.
The cup went under the front wheel and was dragged a short distance before the bus stopped.
"The cup fell, it fell," Ramos said according to Europa Press agency. "But the cup is OK."
Spanish police recovered the cup and returned it to the bus driver.
The win saw Madrid lift their first trophy in three years and is the first for manager Jose Mourinho in his debut season at the club.
