FORMER England star Gary Neville helped Manchester United’s reserves side to a comfortable win over a Shamrock Rovers XI at Tallaght Stadium last night.
Neville was the star name in the United line-up, while Tom Cleverley – who hit 11 goals on loan at Watford last season – had goal attempts kept out by Rovers ’keeper Pat Jennings in the third minute and again in the 43rd minute when the ’keeper also made a stunning stop from Billy Keane’s follow-up attempt. England youth international Keane also had a close range volley kept out by the impressive Jennings in the 11th minute.
Cleverely put United ahead on the hour firing home the spot-kick after he was taken by Patrick Cregg.
