Robin van Persie is nearing full recovery from thigh injury

Robin Van Persie has been traning with PSV Eindhoven in an effort to get back to full fitness for Manchester United.

The Dutch striker has been sidelined since early December with a thingh injury and while manager David Moyes has not said when exactly last year’s Premier League top goalscorer will return, he has been involved in light training.

Van Persie yesterday trained with PSV’s fitness coach Arno Phillips to help in his recovery, as Phillips was unable to travel to Manchester to see the player as is normally the case and misses today’s FA Cup game against Swansea.

Moyes is hoping to get the Dutch striker, who has 10 goals to his name this season, back as soon as possible to resurrect their season and also has Wayne Rooney, Ashley Young, Nani, Marouane Fellaini, Rafael and Phil Jones sidelined at the moment.
